Boko Haram kills WAEC candidates after exam •As Igbo, Yoruba relocate from Borno

JUST as Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State is about putting behind it the recent killing of six secondary school teachers, including a principal, the local government was again plunged into mourning as many students were, on Saturday, murdered in cold blood by some gunmen suspected to be members of the Jama’atul Ahlis Sunnah Lid’ Awati, also known as Boko Haram.
Sunday Tribune learnt that the gunmen killed many students of Monguno Secondary School by slitting their throats, after laying an ambush for them as they returned home from centres where they wrote the West African Examination Council (WAEC) Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).
Monguno is 135 kilometres North of Maiduguri, the state capital; and it is considered to be an epicentre of activities of the Islamist sect.
The gunmen, according to a villager, Mallam Aisami, ambushed the candidates on their way home on foot and bicycles. He added that the assailants tied the students’ hands together at their backs and slit their throats on the foot paths leading to the school premises in the afternoon.
He said when the dastardly deed had been done, the gunmen fled on three motorcycles towards Marte Local Government Area of Northern Borno before men of the Joint Task Force (JTF) rushed to the scene three hours after the students were already slew.
Spokesman of JTF, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, and the Borno State Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Musa Inuwa Kubo, confirmed the incident on Saturday.
They stated that it was a very “unfortunate and frightening incident,” decrying all that had been happening in the state.
Sagir and Kubo could, however, not ascertain the exact number of students allegedly killed by the suspects at Monguno.
Kubo, in a telephone interview, told journalists that; “I am calling on the people of Borno State to continue to pray and fast so that the incessant attacks and killings in the state cease peace and unity are restored.
“I pray that the trying and challenging times of insecurity of lives and property here in Borno will come to an end soon, by God’s willing and the full support of our leaders in the state.”
Sunday Tribune also learnt from JTF sources that; “until political leaders, along with traditional and religious leaders in Borno State, collectively condemn the activities of members of Boko Haram sect, there might be no peace, despite the deployment of troops and policemen to the state.”
In the meantime, Sunday Tribune investigations indicate that members of the Yoruba and Igbo communities in Borno States had been leaving their places of abode, relocating to other places considered to be safer and more secured.

2015 Presidency: Northern Govs Set To Dump Jonathan

Strong indications emerged, yesterday, that the North has taken a resolute decision not to support the candidature of President Goodluck Jonathan should he decide to run in 2015.

Rather than give its blessing to Jonathan’s re-election, the north is now fine-tuning strategies to project one of its leading lights for the presidency in 2015 with Speaker Aminu Tambuwal increasingly winning the favour of some northern governors.
Influential Northern political leaders were deeply concerned about the deteriorating quality of life in Nigeria, particularly in the North occasioned by endless poverty and intractable security challenges that have continued to claim lives and property.
In addition, political gladiators in the region were peeved by the attempt by President Jonathan to dump the gentleman’s agreement he reportedly entered into with Northern governors in 2010 to serve for only one term of four years.
A Northern governor, who told that he was part of the team that brokered the deal with the president, described as shocking the seeming rebuttal of an agreement he said would have seen the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, zone its presidential ticket to the North in 2015.
The governor, who pleaded anonymity, pointed out that the denial of the deal was a calculated attempt to ridicule the North.
Jonthan must honour agreement with the North
He said: “Look, an agreement is an agreement whether written or verbal. In this case, Mr. President cannot say that he did not plead with us to back him for only a term after which he would return power to the North.
”Our position is that he should be gentleman enough to honour that agreement and concede power to the North on moral grounds.
“But let me tell you that the North is not happy with the attempt by the President to jettison what he agreed with us even when he went to Addis Ababa.
”It was based on the firm belief by us that he would run for a term that we mobilised our traditional, political and religious leaders at all levels in the North to support the election of Jonathan in 2011.
“However, if the President wants to take us for a ride, let him wait and see what we can do in 2015. We have decided to take our destiny in our hands by forging ahead as a group in the next election,” the source hinted.
North considers Tambuwal
It was learnt that although the Northern political leaders were united on the need to dump Jonathan and back one of their own in 2015, the major problem confronting them at the moment, was how to decide on a presidential candidate.
It was also gathered that while no fewer than five Northern governors were jostling for the presidential post, political leaders in the region were seriously mulling the idea of drafting the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, into the race.
The decision to look in the direction of Tambuwal was borne out of the fear that the presidency could use the anti-graft agencies to scare the Northern governors, with eyes on the top post.
Those who favour drafting Tambuwal into the presidential race, argue that he possesses all the qualities of a good leader, who can take Nigeria to the next level, if given the opportunity.
Another northern governor, who is in support of Tambuwal said: “Not only is he very pragmatic and conversant with the Nigerian situation, he also possesses what the nation requires to move forward.
“In fact, I can tell you that the North is thinking seriously about the idea and we believe that at the right time it will be done,” the governor said.

MEND Threatens To Bomb Mosques & Assasinate Imams

Nigeria’s Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta said it will start a bombing campaign against mosques and Islamic institutions, a week after the rebel group said it killed 15 security personnel in the southern oil-producing Bayelsa state.
“The bombings of mosques, haj camps, Islamic institutions, large congregations in Islamic events and assassinations of clerics that propagate doctrines of hate will form the core mission of this crusade,” MEND spokesman Jomo Gbomo said in an e-mailed statement today. The campaign, codenamed “Barbarossa,” will start May 31, it said.
MEND may consider a cease-fire if the Christian Association of Nigeria, the Catholic Church and the group’s suspected leader Henry Okah intervene, according to the statement. The threat comes as the government of President Goodluck Jonathan battles Islamist militants in the mainly Muslim north and the capital, Abuja, in which hundreds of people have died since 2009.
MEND, the main rebel group in the the area, destroyed a Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDSA) oil well in Nembe in southern Bayelsa state yesterday as part of an operation it calls “Hurricane Exodus,” Gbomo said.
Precious Okolobo, a Lagos-based spokesman for Shell’s Nigerian unit, said he couldn’t confirm the attack when contacted by phone today.
Claimed Attack
MEND said April 3 it would resume attacks in Africa’s largest oil producer after Okah was sentenced last month to 24 years in prison in South Africa. He was found guilty of 13 counts of terrorism, including a bombing claimed by MEND in which 12 people died in Abuja on Oct. 1, 2010.
On April 10, Nigerian authorities recovered 10 bodies of policemen killed four days earlier in an attack on a boat by gunmen in the oil-rich Niger River delta, Bayelsa state Police Commissioner Kingsley Omire said.
Three policemen and the boat driver jumped in the river in the southern state when gunmen opened fire and were later rescued, Omire said. The attack was claimed by MEND, which said it killed all 15 people aboard.
Shell, Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM), Chevron Corp. (CVX), Total SA and Eni SpA (ENI) run joint ventures with state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. that pump most of the country’s oil. Nigeria depends on crude exports for more than 95 percent of foreign income and 80 percent of government revenue, according to the Petroleum Ministry.
While Okah denies being a leader of MEND, he has said he commands the support of many armed factions in Nigeria’s oil region.
Attacks including kidnappings and bombing of oil installations by groups including MEND cut more than 28 percent of Nigeria’s oil output between 2006 and 2009, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The violence declined after thousands of fighters accepted a government amnesty offer in 2009 and disarmed.

3 Tips To Make A Woman Genuinely Want You Sexually

Ask just about any straight male if they’d like to be able to get women turned on by them a little more often and they are going to nod their head yes. Being able to make a woman want you sexually is a desire that is pretty much ingrained in you. Yet, most men seem to have a hard time being able to do this. That’s why so many guys end up in the friend zone with women, or in a relationship that just doesn't have the spice to it that they crave.
These 3 tips are going to make it easy for you to make a woman want you sexually and get her turned on at the same time:
1. Women are turned on by guys who act like guys.As weird as it sounds to say this, a lot of guys don’t come across this way when they are attracted to a woman. They try to be her friend and in doing that, they lose some of that masculine edge that really attracts a woman sexually  It’s good to want to have things in common or to be able to talk to her, but you don’t want to lose that masculine edge that really makes her feel sexual attraction.
2. There is a difference between talking dirty and talking nasty. For the most part, nasty is not the way to go, yet a lot of men make this mistake when they try to talk dirty. Instead of using language that gets her aroused and gets her imagination fired up, they use language that sounds like it belongs in a really bad adult moviĆ©. It’s not bad to talk dirty to a woman, if you know how to do it and it comes across arousing to her and not filthy.
3. You have to know how to use your body language to get her turned on.Some guys think that they know how to use their body language right, but if you are not really getting the results that you want, then there probably is some improvement that needs to be made. When your body language is right, you are going to be able to make her feel sexually attracted to you on a primal level. That’s the level that you want to be able to attract her on, so this is a good area to work on if you want to be able to get a woman turned on by you.
