D’banj – ‘My Mum Can Call Me If She Finds The Right Woman For Me’

D’banj told Seun Apara of Thisday Magazine he’s actually searching for someone to settle down with but he has not found his choice yet, his words below:“I have dated a lot of women but I don’t really want to talk about them because most of them have moved on and some are married. I don’t have any regret at all because I am still young and I am still a bachelor though my mum wants me to settle down.
She is proud of me and I do let her understand that it’s not that I don’t want to marry, I just haven’t found the right woman. If she finds the right one for me, she can call me,”
That's curious...because in his January interview with Toolz on Ndani TV, D'banj said he was happily dating a very special lady who has been with him for a while. Fast forward to his interview today with Seun Apara of Thisday,

The Documentary 'Fuelling Poverty' Nominated for the 2013 AMAA Despite Being Banned by the Government

The Documentary 'Fuelling Poverty' Nominated for the 2013 AMAA Despite Being Banned by the Government

The documentary Fuelling Poverty, described as a national threat by the Nigerian government, received industry acclaim when it got nominated for the 2013 African Movie Academy Award, AMAA, in Malawi.
On March 15, barely 25 days to the ban as announced by the Nigeria Film and Video Censor Board, NFVCB, fuelling poverty, a documentary made by Ishaya Bako, was announced amidst pomp, one of the best made documentary for the year 2013.
AMAA, a highly competitive and arguably the most important African film event and awards, nominated Mr. Bako’s documentary, in accordance with its core values of professionalism, excellence, integrity and passion.
These values, the NFVCB apparently considered “highly provocative and likely to incite or encourage public disorder and undermine national security” as it banned the airing and distribution of the film.
The NFVCB, in a letter dated April 8, warned Mr. Bako to desist from distributing his film. A move, described as anti- democratic and a descent into the Gestapo style clamping of the media during the military regime.
In a twist of event, though, the film which was already on YouTube, a video sharing website, garnered more viewing than would have been possible had the ban not been announced.

Don’t Attack Muslims In Niger Delta – Kuku Begs MEND

The Chairman, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Mr Kingsley Kuku, has appealed to the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta,MEND,to re-think its threat to attack Muslims in the South-south.
Kuku, who is also Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, made the appeal in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday and made available to DailyPost.
The presidential aide said. “As a firm believer in dialogue to resolve disputes, I implore MEND to channel its grievances through the open channel of communication that my office offers.
“My office is always open for dialogue with any aggrieved group in the Niger Delta irrespective of the issue,” adding that the success of the amnesty programme was achieved through dialogue.
“Today, thousands of youths from the region are being equipped with vocational and other skills through the instrumentality of the amnesty programme for former agitators in the region.
“Those that were sceptical about the programme are now surprised that youths from the region are becoming players in the aviation sector through the pilot training component of the amnesty programme.
“Only last weekend, 16 of them were decorated as Commercial Pilots at the Africa Union Aviation Academy in South Africa.’’
He expressed that his office was particularly concerned about the fresh threat because it does not want the region to regress to violence again.
“Besides, any threat to worshippers of any religion in a section of the country is a threat to the whole country.
“Nigeria, particularly the Niger Delta, needs peace for the development that we yearn for in the region to take place.”
Kuku maintained that any violent reaction in the Niger Delta to the insurgency in the North by the Boko Haram would worsen the security situation in the country.
“Boko Haram should not be MEND’s problem. Already, the government is on top of the situation and we are confident that a solution will be found soon.
“There is no price that is too big to pay for peace to be achieved in any part of Nigeria,’’ Kuku added.

Basketmouth’s Reaction To Jonathan Government And Boko Haram Romance

Governance in Nigeria has been reduced to setting up of Committees, another committee and another, yet we hardly see tangible results.
We observed that many Nigerians, apart from those who are eating from the government, are already complaining about this trend.
Below is how comedian Basketmouth related the Boston bombing incident that happened in the United States of America and the way President Goodluck Jonathan is ‘romancing’ Boko Haram:
“Those who tried to Terrorise Us failed bcos America has refused to be Terrorised”

……Barak Obama
4 days after the Boston Marathon Bombings, the FBI and state Police in Boston have apprehended the 2 bombers; One dead and one seriously injured.
Just 4 days? That’s unfair now!, they didn’t set up a 26-man Committee? American Government didn’t propose Amnesty/retrain those bombers by sending them abroad? What happened to giving them and their backers state pardon? Haba! How many people did they even kill sef? Why did Obama go to visit the victims family without wearing a bullet proof vest? This Obama sef, he does not know how to govern or deal with terrorists! Pampering them is the way to go not “getting them”.
He did not even fix monthly allowance for other possible Bombers to cool their temper….Hmmmmm? America simply sent their Law Enforcement Agencies, paid with tax payers money and they did what they are paid and trained to do….bring the criminals to Justice! In just 4days.(y) I think our Federal Government should set up a ‘committee’ to look into American Government to stop making ‘Us’ look like we don’t know how to fight Terrorism/

The Temple Of Justice Has Been Desecrated – Amaechi

Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, says the April 15, 2013 verdict delivered by Justice Ishaq Bello of the Federal High Court, Abuja, declaring Mr. Felix Obuah and Mr. Ibibia Opuene Walter, as duly elected Chairman and Secretary respectively of the State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, amounts to a desecration of the temple of justice.
Governor Amaechi said this today while addressing a mammoth crowd of Rivers people who marched in solidarity to Government House, Port Harcourt.
Represented by his deputy, Engr. Tele Ikuru, Governor declared that “I think as a nation one area we should not allow mud to go into is the judiciary. As a nation one area we should not allow to become a thing of play is the judiciary. The temple of justice has been desecrated. Nigeria arise, Nigeria arise. If we do not rise, we will lose our country. As a nation, any day we allow the temple of justice to be desecrated we’ll lose our country”.
Governor Amaechi, who is also the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), stated that “any day a poor man cannot go to the court and state his case and get justice that country is lost”.
“I therefore call on the judges, particularly, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, to very quickly, with alarm, move into this matter,” emphasizing that “I have faith in the Chief Justice of this country. She is a woman of integrity, she is a woman who has proved herself time without number,” noting that “this is another case for her to prove that she sits at the helm of justice in this country,” assuring that “she will ensure that justice is given to all”.
Engr. Ikuru disclosed that “I was privileged to be part of that convention, I was privileged to see the votes counted, I was privileged to see the results announced and then suddenly in broad daylight, somebody said that that election produced another person,” pointing out that “when certain people die their eyes will not close because they tell broad day lies. Those who open their eyes, know what is right, see what is right and say something different. The day they will die their eyes will never close”.
The Governor called on the people of the State, especially the members of the PDP to be law abiding and go about their normal duties without breaching the peace.
“I will urge every one of you to hold your peace. Hold your peace because I know there are still men and women of goodwill in this country. There are still people of truth,” he stressed

Justice Esiri resurrects in Yenagoa as AMAA in quest Best Actor of the Year

Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State is playing host to the ninth edition of African Movie Academy Award (AMAA) tonight. The event which is to be anchored by the Nigerian duo, Dakore Egbuson and Ayo Makun  will be joined by the Ghanaian act Ama K. Abebrese, a British actress of Akan origin in Ghana as  host is dubbed Afican’s version of the Oscars. Venue of the AMMA is  Glory land Cultural Centre.

Dakore, a prominent figure among Nigerian female actors and an indigene of Bayelsa State, is expected to add pep and glamour to the event. According to Tony Anih, AMAA  Director of Administration who spoke with Nigerian Compass, the three presenters will bring more glamour to the event. “This year's awards host were carefully selected to give guests new experience and promote the spirit of unity in Africa which the awards scheme has been promoting in the last nine years of existence.

“Each of them will bring to the stage their vast experiences as celebrities, event and TV hosts. AY’s pedigree as a stand-up comedian is outstanding. As an actress and TV presenter, Dakore is a class act. Ama K will hold the audience with her unique and definitive mastery of English language as a former British television presenter and one of Ghana’s best female actors,’’ he said.

Already, all necessary plans have been concluded with officials of Bayelsa State government to have a hitch-free event to deliver a new experience.

“We are working very hard to make sure we don’t have logistics problem which has always been one area we have been falling short of expectations. Again our guests must also bear it in mind that Bayelsa is not Lagos or Abuja where we have ready-made infrastructure that can support event of this magnitude. Bayelsa is still developing as a city and the present government of Governor Dickson is working hard to accelerate the development of Yenagoa into a modern city,’’ he stressed.

In the run off to the award, late Nollywood actor, Justice Esiri spirit will come alive today, as the late veteran actor battles with Bimbo Manuel for the Best Actor of the year. His lead role in Assasins Practice was enough to get him nominated for the award in which if he eventually wins, he will become the first late icon to win such a prestigious award.

In the female category, it will be a battle between Rita Dominic and Yvonne Okoro for the Best Female Actress.

Whichever the podium swings today, it is obvious that the glitz and glamour of Africa's own Oscar award would have been raised higher.

Photo: See Who Owns This Billion Dollar Mansion In Abuja

Just on Thursday I was driving with some friends around the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja and one the questions I was asked is "what is this building?" One of my guys got curious and wanted to know more about this architectural masterpiece on Gana Street, Maitama Abuja.

Now I have the answer, the owner of the 'powerful' house has opened up.
In a chat with Leadership, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar, chairman of AA Oil Limited, said he acquired the plot of land where the structure was erected in 2005 from an indigene of Zamfara State at a cost of N1 billion. Aliyu, who trained as a building technologist before venturing into oil business, said that he financed the building from his personal savings, as he did not obtain any mortgage from any bank.
“This building belongs to me. I bought the land occupying this building around 2005 from one man from Zamfara State. I bought it for N1billion because of the location. Thereafter, a thought came to me. By the way, I am a builder. I specialize in building houses of model quality. Any house I build is usually very special.
"The whole idea about that is just for everyone to know that it is very possible to replicate the type of things we see in overseas countries in Nigeria. So, I resolved that since I had the opportunity of acquiring this land, I would put up a structure that would be equal to none in the entire city and maybe the country.”

Photo: Kenyan Singer Allows Fans To Touch Her Private Parts On Stage

This is a picture of a Kenyan Singer performing on stage, and later at a point in time, she bent down close to the fans and hurriedly the fans started deeping their hands into her sewer, and to the surprise of the audience, she didn’t even bother to escape and later said she had a fun performance.
