“I’m a bit worried about fatigue” – Keshi anxious ahead of Tahiti game

Keshi points
Stephen Keshi has admitted that he is worried his players, might suffer from fatigue and jet lag against Tahiti.

The Super Eagles landed in Brazil only 36 hours to their opening game, because of a bonus row and travel chaos, which has left the coach worried.
“I’m a bit worried about fatigue. We have been working with them mentally and the team is in shape,” he said.
“But I’m still worried because we had a similar issue when we played Mexico where players were cramping towards the end.”

Keshi also expressed worried about his players’ anxiety in front of goal, as they have only managed two goals in the last two
He said: “Sometimes as a player, you have anxiety that plays on your mind. Especially with the young players. It’s something we are working on and we hope to address that in this tournament.”
If Nigeria defeats Tahiti, it would extend Keshi’s unbeaten record to 18 games – a statistic the former Super Eagls defender is not keen on.
“I’m not concerned about an unbeaten run but how to create a good team for Nigeria and how to have a good squad that is mentally and physically strong and be one of the best teams in the world.
“I don’t know that much about them. But if they want to fight like lions, we will fight like tigers. It is the grass that will suffer.
“We will just go out there and have fun and see what the result will be.”
