The League Management Committee (LMC) has banned the Uyo Township Stadium for the rest of the season after Referee, Henry Ogunyanmodi, refused to continue the match between Akwa United and Warri Wolves in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) last week.
The referee had alleged that some fans attacked him in the dressing room during the match’s half-time.
The game had to be called off even as Akwa United were leading 2-0.
Warri Wolves have subsequently been awarded three goals and three points.
The verdict which instituted no fines on the Uyo – based side will have them play the remainder of their matches in the NFPL at the Rojenny Stadium, in Anambra State.
Lobi Stars was also ordered to play three home matches behind closed doors after their fans assaulted Referee, Audu Ibrahim after a 0-0 draw against Enyimba.
